Southeast Tulsa manufacturing seeking a senior level Assembly Supervisor for its manufacturing facility. JOB SUMMARY
1. Manages the personnel and the activities of the Assembly Department.
2. Oversees the achievement of production goals for the Assembly Department
3. Oversees the achievement of quality goals for the Assembly Department
4. Responsible for the position as the technology leader for the Assembly Department.
5. Supervises Environmental, Health and Safety functions for the Assembly Department and maintains report with the Operations Manager .
6. Manages the department ISO program, adhering to the documented ISO policies and procedures and fulfilling protocol when existing documents need to be modified or updates or new policies and/or procedures need to be documented and implemented.
7. Manages all shipping/receiving functions of the department and related goods, services and products
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES
· Supervises the activities of the assigned Assembly Department employees
· Directs employees with respect to production volume, cost, quality, and meeting production schedules and delivery dates.
· Stimulates maximum efficiency and productivity of production workers.
· Confers with the Business Development Manager and Production Supervisor to establish working schedules for all departments connected with production.
· Maintains adherence to company policies, safety standards, and good housekeeping practices.
· Recommends the hiring and releasing of production and tool room personnel as required to maintain production schedule.
· Assures that machinery, equipment, and facilities are properly maintained for efficient production.
· Schedules employee overtime, as required.
· Arranges to have appropriate production records prepared and maintained
· Maintains good employee relations and adherence to labor contract provisions, takes proper and judicious disciplinary measures when required, assists supervisors in handling first-step grievances, and conducts second-step meetings.
· Keeps records of departmental activities, as required.
· Assures efficient and economical utilization of materials, improvement of methods, and elimination of wasteful practices within the department.
· In concert with individual supervisors, establishes accountabilities and goals used for performance evaluation.
· Reviews quality records to make qualified improvements in the quality performance of the production staff.
· Reviews parts with Inspection Department on an as-requested basis to determine specific quality issues.
· Ensures that the production staff is correctly completing all production and quality record documentation as required.
· Manages all pertinent department record keeping, including forms, GSS programs, quality and customer documentation requirement records.
SKILLS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
· Strong mechanical aptitude is a must.
· Previous experience and exposure to fields involving pipes, valves and fittings related to the oil and gas industry.
· API and ANSI experience, knowledge or exposure a plus.
· ISO-9001 working environment and related quality programs a plus.
· Lean manufacturing training and 5-S working experience a plus
· Ability to work with and manage a diverse work group of different personalities, skill sets and work approaches.
· Assembly experience involving mechanical, electrical, and detailed product production.
· Five to eight years of directly related experience, with at least two years’ experience as a supervisor.
· Ability to read, speak and write American technical English instructions and documents.
· Experience with a wide range of mechanical hand tools including wrenches, socket sets, drivers, screw drivers, hand power tools, torque wrenches, tape measure, calipers and micrometers.
· Possess an ability to observe detail, and to follow work instructions, prints and plans in order.
· Forklift driving skills.
